As a celebration of being cancer free over one year, my brother Joe and I will be walking the Camino Portuguese from the small fishing town of Vigo. This time we are accepting the assistance of an agency that has made all hotel arrangements and will move our luggage. There are those who would scoff that this is not a real Camino but as I have walked four sections before including the full French Way, the Portuguese Way from Porto, and the Santiago-Finistere-Muxia Way, I feel that I owe no one an apology.
Joe and I will fly from Newark to Porto just after midnight on 5 November and then be transported to our hotel in Vigo where we will acclimate on the 5th and 6th before walking on the 7th.
Stay tuned for more.
So glad you are cancer-free and embarking on a great adventure. I’m looking forward to reading your updates. Elizabeth

Hey Mr. Ritchie! What an awesome adventure! I just did Sarria to Santiago in September all by myself, but I did hire a company to set up the lodging and transport my bag. I had an AMAZING experience and am planning my next Camino! It’s still a Camino and it’s still worth it, don’t listen to what anyone says. Do what’s right for you. Congrats on being cancer free! I’m so happy for you! You sound like you’re in a good place in life. ☺️. Enjoy! I look forward to your posts and pics! Michelle

Will do, Michael! Just so you know, you’ve inspired me to explore the Camino. I’d never heard of it until you told us the stories years ago while stationed in Germany. This sparked an interest in me. As time went by, I didn’t think I’d ever make it over there to walk the Camino, but i started with the shorter route and now know I can do more. I met so many amazing people on the Camino, will definitely plan something for next year and beyond. Gracias y buen camino!
